Petaling Jaya History

Petaling Jaya (commonly called "PJ" by locals) is a city originally developed as a satellite township for Kuala Lumpur comprising mostly residential and some industrial areas. It is located in the Petaling district of Selangor . On 20 June 2006, Petaling Jaya was granted a city status. Since then, Petaling Jaya has been commonly known as the most developed non-capital city in Malaysia.

A prominent landmark is the Kota Darul Ehsan arch which symbolically marks the boundary between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. This arch straddled the Federal Highway (Lebuhraya Persekutuan) which was originally the only highway link between Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. However, many links now exist as alternatives to the congested Federal Highway. Besides that, close to the Kelana Jaya Line's Taman Jaya Station is the Thai Wat Chetawan temple. This ornate building is probably the only authentic-design Thai temple in the Klang Valley and is very popular amongst the Buddhist community. Mutiara Damansara, The Curve, Ikea, e@Curve and One Utama are some of the shopping havens famous in Petaling Jaya. There are
more than 23 colleges and universities in Petaling Jaya Tunku Abdul Rahman University (UTAR), Tun Abdul Razak University (UNITAR), Kolej Damansara Utama (KDU) and many more. There are also many secondary schools in Petaling Jaya including SMK Taman SEA, SMK Damansara Utama, Bukit Bintang Boys School and many more.

Transportation facilities and infrastructure are well developed in Petaling Jaya today. Therefore, public transportation is provided by RapidKL in the form of buses as well as the KL Light Rail Transit System -Kelana Jaya Line, which extends slightly into Petaling Jaya. There are five Kelana Jaya Line stations in Petaling Jaya. Petaling Jaya has three access points to the national highway system North-South Expressway via Kota Damansara, Damansara, and Subang. Internally, highways such as the Damansara-Puchong Expressway, Sprint Expressway and the Federal Highway also exist. There are plans for extensions to the existing Klang Valley light rail transit network with a new 30 km line from Kota Damansara in the northern part of Petaling Jaya to Cheras (southern Kuala Lumpur) with stops in Mutiara Damansara and Taman Tun Dr Ismail, to name a few. The extension line which would connect to Subang Jaya, the Kelana Jaya Line, will start operation on April 2011 and expected to be completed in 2013.

Why my Adsense payment on hold

A huge error message in red color popped up on my Adsense main screen today (10 January 2011). The message sound ‘Your payments are currently on hold. Action is required to release payment’, I was panicked after reading the message.

Quickly, I clicked on the ‘more details’ button to find out more details on reasons behind the message.  Luckily nothing major after understood reasons and continued to Google for answer. I decided to share the information to new Adsense members.  Basically you will be receiving this message from Google for account validation as soon as your account earning hit US 10 dollars.

There are three sections for you to be completed, in order for Google to release your earning

a) To validate your payee name / address / phone (no phone validation for some countries).  You will be receiving a PIN from Google via email; the delivery based on people comments around 3 weeks. Once you validated the payee name / address / phone, insert the PIN number sent by Google Adsense team and hit ‘Enter’. Now you done 1 out of 3 steps

b) Setup the channel to receive your earning. Google will be sending your earning when the threshold hit US 100 dollars. You job here is to decide how to receive it via the following channel

  i) Check – Standard Delivery
ii) Check – Secured Express Delivery (there will be charges of US 24 for processing fee)
  iii) Western Union

Above all the available channels, Western Union may be the best option for members outside of USA; whereas you can receive your payments the next day via Western Union offices/agents.

Standard check may take 3 weeks for delivery, not to mention the time for check clearing house. Therefore, Western Union the best!! (Please check the fees applicable on your own. No changes in my country)

c) Submit your Tax information

How to choose SEO friendly domain name

I have covered on the ‘How to choose good web hosting provider’ via another post earlier. Now another crucial process is to have your domain name (Domain name is an identical address to your webpage). Below are some tips on how to choose a good domain name for your website.

a) If you already own a domain name before, I would suggest you to buy from the same provider for easy maintenance (example renewal in the future), as well as to have a better tracking. Of course, only buying from the same provider if you’re happy with them; else you may consider switching

b) Always buy the ‘.com’ domain, as the .com top level domain (TLD) is commonly used. This very true, when you looking for a domain name for business that sound credibility to boost your business; furthermore, mostly people will end the domain name with ‘.com’. Imagine an airline with a ‘.net’ domain name. Sound weird right?

c) Consider local TLD, if you run a business that based outside of USA. Example, ABC Company is based in Canada; you may choose the domain name with ‘.com.ca’. This will enable higher page rank on the local search engine to further boost up you web traffic.

d) Choose one word spelling domain name, that easy for your website visitors to remember. The chances of returning visitors are usually higher compared to the long domain name. Again, the shorter the better

e) Do not use hyphens, as this will usually confuse your visitors. Imagine, if your potential customer missed the hyphens? That is, the traffic will be routed to the similar website with is without the hyphens.

f) Search the rich key word, which related to your contents. You can use tools such as Google Word Trend to scan the keyword searches. If you are lazy, consider the dropped domain (those expired) which is mostly having some traffic due to past presence on the web. Then think the best

Above all, ask some of your friends to brainstorm the best Domain name would also worth for your consideration; if your project is not the ‘X Files’ type.

Reasons Why You Should Consider Paying For Your Traffic

There are numerous success stories you will hear about businesses making it good on the internet . The troubling thing is, there are maybe a tenfold or even a hundredfold of stories inconsistent to theirs. Many have unsuccessfully launched a business venture that is internet based but only a handful shall succeed.

Is this because of luck? That is even more remote. It takes good business sense and a lot of help and team effort. Most importantly, it is the eagerness to succeed and the persistence to learn and the willingness to put in a lot of hard work and some money.

However, before shelling out your hard-earned money on advertising, here are three (3) smart reasons why you should consider paying for your traffic including common-sense methods of showing you how to prepare your website.

1. The quickest method for getting customers to your website is to pay for your traffic.
Like Neo, traffic is 'The One' . Without traffic, all your efforts would just go to waste. Every business needs customers, without them you wouldn't have anyone to sell your products to. In the Internet world traffic is the walk in customer. The more traffic you possess the more people you'd be able to sell your products to.

But similar to any business that's in every corner building or in the mall, not everyone that goes in will buy. But for those who do come in to browse your merchandise, most of them will buy your products. It is a clear and known fact.

But, how do you get traffic, traffic great enough that could make a small portion of resulting buyers enough to make a fair profit. Many big companies generate traffic of tens of thousands a day and a measly ten to fifteen percent actually buys, but that small percentage is enough to supply them with adequate business.

Many of these success stories get their traffic from paying others. Yes that's right; you have to spend money to make money. Advertising is the key. The more people who know that your site exists the more people would of course go to your site, that's common sense.

While there are numerous ways to get free advertising for your business, free advertising doesn't generate the same high volume of traffic as paid traffic does. Paid advertisements include such advertising schemes as those offered by Google and Yahoo.

2. In order to take full advantage of the search engines, make sure that your site is properly optimized to rank high before paying for your traffic.
Search engines are the fastest and easiest way for finding what you need on the internet . Search engines are extremely popular because they provide an indispensable service to many people. They are free and easy to use. Because of their popularity, search engines receive many visitors as well as click throughs . With these benefits in mind, it is easy to see why so many companies would pay to advertise with search engines.

Search engines provide information to the millions of users they receive each day. They provide relevant links to many sites that a user may be looking for. If your site's link pops up as one of the top ranked sites on the search results page, you stand a great chance that the user will click your link and go to your site. While search engine optimization is a cheaper and low cost way to get your site a high rank, paying for advertisements will ensure that you will be on the top ranks.

When you pay for your advertisements, it is like paying for guaranteed traffic to your site. This may not seem like a good idea at first, but the benefits of doing so far outweigh the cost in the long run. When you pay for your traffic, you are guaranteed a consistent flow of traffic to your site. You will at no time go without making a sale on any given day.

3. Find and use tools that will aid you in researching relevant keywords for your chosen niche so that you don't waste money on advertising.
Normally, you will be charged with the number of hits a link gets when your ad is clicked, this is known as pay per click. For some search engines, you will be charged with the number of times your ad shows up when a certain keyword or keyword phrase is searched. It is imperative that you have good keyword content in your ad. There are many tools on the Internet which can aid you in using the right keywords at the right moment in time.

All the money you spend in paying for your traffic will not be for nothing. You will get an impressive boost in traffic which will also result in a great boost in your sales figures.
